The Smirnoff Sound Collective Highlights Values Of Inclusivity Through Global Launch Of New Documentary
"Tribes: DIRTYBIRD" Showcases How the Successful American House Record Label Stays Grounded in its Roots while Celebrating its Passion for Good Times and Good Music
NEW YORK, Oct. 12, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --Today, the Smirnoff Sound Collective, the SMIRNOFF™ brand's international music platform created to inspire a more inclusive world through electronic music, announced the global premiere of the newest addition to the "Tribes" series entitled, "Tribes: DIRTYBIRD."
The new 14-minute documentary takes a behind-the-scenes look at the members of DIRTYBIRD, an American house record label originally based out of San Francisco, and now Los Angeles. DIRTYBIRD founder Claude VonStroke created the American house record label to champion a new style of house and techno in America. Built around a free BBQ party series in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park, DIRTYBIRD is famed for its quirky basslines, feel good vibes, strong familial ties between artists and fans, and fun, responsible times for all.
Recently dubbed "America's Best DJ" by DJ Times and Pioneer, Claude VonStroke has always kept DIRTYBIRD grounded in its messages of inclusivity and has partnered with the Smirnoff Sound Collective to share the recipe behind DIRTYBIRD's continued success.
"I'm lucky enough to be surrounded by great people and music every day," said Claude VonStroke. "We are not serious people, but we are serious about making music, and we want nothing more but to spread the love and energy we feel at our events to everyone. I feel like 'Tribes: DIRTYBIRD' does a great job of showcasing what we're all about."
"Tribes: DIRTYBIRD" shares the story of each person behind the label's success – from the music fan who travels to all of DIRTYBIRD's events; to Aundy, Claude VonStroke's wife and the matriarch of the label; to Grill$on, the designated grill master. Throughout the documentary, DIRTYBIRD's transition from a small record label to a popular sub-culture is explored.
This past weekend, DIRTYBIRD hosted its 2nd annual DIRTYBIRD Campout in Silverado, California, where attendees obtained a sneak peak of the "Tribes: DIRTYBIRD" documentary in advance of the official launch.
"DIRTYBIRD perfectly embodies what the Smirnoff Sound Collective is all about," said Justin Medcraft, SMIRNOFF Global Senior Brand Manager. "We think DIRTYBIRD represents the best parts of electronic music through the community it has created and the positive environment the artists create for fans everywhere."
