The Siegfried Group Welcomes New Professionals from the West Region for New Hire Orientation

WILMINGTON, Del., Nov. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Siegfried Group, LLP recently hosted new professionals from across the United States at the Renaissance Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland. The group learned more about the Firm's unique model, various departments and functions, and heard Robert L. Siegfried, Jr., CPA, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, speak about the Firm's higher purpose.

Siegfried's New Hire Orientation program is centered on introducing new professionals to the Firm's extraordinary culture. It is a great opportunity to meet members of Leadership, the Operations team and other fellow Professional Resources, while enjoying an exciting venue. The four-day program includes sessions on the Firm's structure, Siegfried's Client Service Delivery Model, Professional Resource expectations, as well as interactive presentations from all of the departments throughout the company. The orientation kicked off with a welcome reception at the Renaissance Hotel's Mt. Washington Room, and throughout orientation, the group was able to enjoy dinners at some of the finest restaurants in the area including Azumi and Oceanaire.

In the Los Angeles and Northern California Markets, Siegfried is excited about John Flood, Max Huang, Katie Kvilhaug, Michelle McKinley, Matthew Kwong and Jeff Wong joining the Firm.

John L. Flood II, CPA

John is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Denver Market as a Manager. He comes to Siegfried from Deloitte's Chicago office, where he gained six years of audit experience with focuses in the manufacturing, distribution, telecommunications, technology and retail industries. He received his Bachelors of Science and Masters of Accounting from Miami University.

John's mental agility and analytical ability enable him to examine complex problems from every angle and provide the most effective solutions possible. His personable demeanor and communication skills allow him to quickly integrate into any team, enabling him to hit the ground running and add immediate value. 

In his free time John loves to travel, attend live music events, and is really looking forward to his first ski season in the Colorado Rockies. John recently returned from a six-month honeymoon with his wife in South East Asia where they took up scuba diving, surfing, mountain climbing, and soaked up the culture, along with a significant amount of sand and sunshine.

Max Huang, CPA, CA

Max is a Chartered Professional Accountant who joins the Los Angeles Market as a Senior Associate. He comes to Siegfried from PwC, where he gained three years of audit experience with a primary focus in the real estate industry. Max received his BCOM in Accounting from the University of British Columbia.

Max's confident demeanor allows him to excel in any client environment, demonstrating his ability to deliver quality work without compromising deadlines. Max says, "My competitive spirit and determined outlook enable me to deliver exceptional results that exceed expectations."

In his free time, Max stays active through working out at the gym and keeping up to date with the latest technology. He is an avid Vancouver Canucks supporter and loves to cheer on his beloved hometown team. Max also enjoys hiking mountains and has a knack for living a healthy lifestyle which he plans to maintain wherever his work travels take him.

Katie Kvilhaug, CPA

Katie is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Denver Market as a Senior Associate. She comes to Siegfried from EY in Las Vegas, where she gained three years of audit experience with a primary focus in the gaming industry. She received her Bachelors of Science in Hospitality Management from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and her Master of Accounting from the University of Miami.

Katie's flexibility, strong work ethic and communication skills promote a cohesive and positive working environment, enabling her to motivate her teams towards success. Katie says, "The opportunity to make valuable contributions to client projects and gain exposure to new industries and roles, is why I joined Siegfried."

In her free time, Katie enjoys traveling, attending sporting events and exploring Denver's food scene. She considers herself a foodie and loves to dine out and experiment with new flavors in her cooking. As a Montana native, she looks forward to getting back into the mountains for skiing this winter.

Michelle McKinley, CPA

Michelle is a Certified Public Accountant who joins the Los Angeles Market as a Manager. She comes to Siegfried from the New York law firm of Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where she gained two years of experience in the international accounting group. Prior to this role, she worked in the audit and accounting advisory, capital markets and structuring group (CMAS) with PwC London. She received her Bachelors of Science in Business Economics with minors in Accounting and Spanish from UCLA.

In her free time, Michelle enjoys travelling while immersing herself in different cultures and experiences. During her time in London, she was able to visit several mainland European cities, and among her favorites are Madrid, Stockholm, Geneva and Berlin. She hopes to continue her travelling with trips to Asia in the near future.

Matt Kwong, CPA, CA

Matt is a Chartered Professional Accountant who joins the Los Angeles Market as a Senior Associate. He previously came from PwC Vancouver where he spent three years in the audit and assurance group with a focus in the real estate and technology industries. Matt also spent time on the asset management team in the New York office.

Matt is an innovative professional who specialized in achieving objectives in the most efficient and effective manner. He invests his time and energy into team-building and collaboration with others as he understands that true strength lies in the unique skill sets that his teammates bring to the table. Matt says, "I decided to join The Siegfried Group for all of the new and exciting opportunities as well as the chance to work with some amazing individuals."

In his down time, Matt enjoys weightlifting and finding new trails to hike. He also enjoys going to see any new release movies in theaters.

Jeff Wong, CPA, CA

Jeff is a Chartered Professional Accountant who joins the San Francisco Market as a Senior Associate. He comes to Siegfried from PwC, where he gained three years of audit experience with a primary focus in the technology and financial services industries. He also spent four years working for two of Canada's "Big Five" Banks.

Jeff's ability to analytically strategize unique solutions, create synergies and maintain a positive attitude, is what differentiates himself to deliver exceptional results for his team and clients.
