The SCOOTER Store is pleased to announce that Tom Hood, vice president of corporate compliance and corporate privacy officer, has been awarded the designation of Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC®) by the Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA). This designation is a national certification standard for healthcare privacy compliance professionals. The announcement of this certification kicks off The SCOOTER Store celebration of Corporate Compliance and Ethics Week.

Hood is designated a Professional by the Academy for Healthcare Management (PAHM®) and holds the Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC®) designation from the Compliance Certification Board and the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP®) credential. Before joining The SCOOTER Store, Hood served as a director of the National Supplier Clearinghouse at Palmetto Government Benefits Administrators in Columbia, S.C. He has also been the senior vice president for government programs, corporate compliance, HIPAA compliance, security and privacy at TechHealth, Inc., in Tampa, Fla.
