The Salvation Army Of Westmoreland County expresses gratitude; "Thank-A-Thons" and Open Houses slated
CARNEGIE, Pa., May 16, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Salvation Army in Westmoreland County has been a shining light to those who desperately need its services. With dignity and respect, The Salvation Army delivers top-notch assistance by responding to emergencies and helping people gain a sense of self-sufficiency in their lives. But, despite their efficiency in maximizing funds, The Salvation Army of Westmoreland County has been experiencing financial deficits over a period of years, which causes great concern. Donors and community volunteers are valued partners that are the organization's lifeblood.
Westmoreland County is a large area that hosts five Salvation Army Worship and Service Centers located in Greensburg, Latrobe, Jeannette, New Kensington/Kiski Valley and Monessen. All of these facilities will be conducting telephone "Thank-A-Thons" expressing donor appreciation, during the week of May 19th. The following week, all five sites will be holding Open Houses on Wednesday, May 28th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The public is warmly welcomed to attend. "Salvation Army Officers and their teams will be available to greet their community, give a tour of its programs and center, share what they are doing in their local community and answer any questions people might have," said Major Robert L. Kramer, The Salvation Army's Westmoreland County Coordinator. Kramer added, "The month of May is traditionally a time when the Army celebrates its birth and we believe it makes for a perfect time to say 'Thank You' to the many supporters who have helped the Army achieve what we do."
