The Partnership for Drug-Free Kids Unveils New Online Store for "Above the Influence" Teen Program
~Teen Initiative Encourages Teens to Speak for Themselves, Avoid Negative Influences
NEW YORK, June 23, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Partnership for Drug-Free Kids today launched a new online store as part of its Above the Influence (ATI) program. All proceeds from the ATI's online store directly benefit the nonprofit's teen-focused ATI program, with every purchase helping the Partnership reach more young people.
Available in the ATI online store are fashionable T-shirts, bandanas, hats, mobile phone cases, decals and stickers, all branded with ATI's iconic logo. Larger quantities of T-shirt orders are customizable – an option that can benefit school groups and clubs who are planning local events or special occasions.
"Today's teens are under a tremendous amount of pressure to meet certain expectations, but they also crave authenticity, and ways to set themselves apart. Above the Influence has a legacy of helping empower teens to be true to themselves," said Andrew Hertzberg, Director of Youth Programs, who leads Above the Influence for the Partnership. "Every day teens are bombarded with pro-drug and pro-alcohol images messages. At the same time, Federal prevention budgets have been zeroed out and drug prevention is no longer covered in many schools, leaving this generation of teens more vulnerable to drug and alcohol abuse."
Added Hertzberg, "This is an exciting opportunity to help unify and amplify the 'voice' of Above the Influence. Each purchase made from the ATI store will help us reach even more young people with ATI's unique prevention message, inspiring them to make informed, positive choices for themselves."
The Above the Influence Campaign
Above the Influence is a popular and proven-effective drug and alcohol prevention initiative created for American youth. With an online community of over 1.5 million young people, the program has an active, robust audience. The Partnership spearheads all national youth outreach, including advertising, social media and campaign websites for Above the Influence. ATI's positive impact has been documented in several studies published in respected peer-reviewed journals including American Journal of Public Health and Prevention Science.
"The new online store reinforces the ideals of ATI – to underscore a strong sense of self in teens, and help them find the confidence to stand up to the daily pressures in their lives without succumbing to negative influences to help them cope," added Hertzberg.

About the Partnership for Drug-Free Kids
The Partnership for Drug-Free Kids is dedicated to reducing substance abuse among adolescents by supporting families and engaging with teens. We develop public education campaigns that drive awareness of teen substance abuse, and lead teen-targeted efforts that inspire young people to make positive decisions to stay healthy and avoid drugs and alcohol. On our website, drugfree.org, and through our toll-free helpline (1-855-DRUGFREE), we provide families with direct support and guidance to help them address teen substance abuse. Finally, we build healthy communities, advocating for great access to adolescent treatment and funding for youth prevention programs. As a national nonprofit, we depend on donations from individuals, corporations, foundations and the public sector and are thankful to SAG-AFTRA and the advertising and media industries for their ongoing generosity. We are proud to receive a Four-Star rating from Charity Navigator, America's largest and most-utilized independent evaluator of charities, as well as a National Accredited Charity Seal from The Better Business Bureau's Wise Giving Alliance.
