The NFL And The 9/11 Memorial Are Take Our Children to Work Day Hosts For Tuesday's Children
Over Twenty Five Companies Across NYC Host Children Impacted By September 11, 2001
NEW YORK, April 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Close to 100 children from the 9/11, Responder and Veteran communities will participate in the Tuesday's Children annual Take Our Children to Work Day program which will be held on April 24th and 25th, 2013. Participants, ranging in age from 8-18, are members of Tuesday's Children, a non-profit family service organization that has made a long-term commitment to all those impacted by 9/11 and terrorist incidents worldwide.
Terry Sears, Executive Director of Tuesday's Children, said, "On Take Our Children to Work Day, most children can go off to work with their parents. The reality is that even years later, this day is still a stark reminder of what's missing in the lives of our kids. Thanks to the extraordinary participation of 26 companies, our children are able to explore the many choices life has to offer."
One of the hosts for the day will be the NFL, in conjunction with their PLAY 60 campaign. The day will start at the NFL's corporate office, then head to Radio City Music Hall for a sneak peek behind the scenes of the NFL Draft, and finish the day at the NFL PLAY 60Youth Football Festival at Chelsea Waterside Park, tossing the ball with some of the league's most celebrated players.
An official partner of Tuesday's Children, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum will also host a group of children starting with the museum that is slated to open in 2014, explaining their selection of artifacts and what goes into preparing them for exhibition.
Other long-time partners include the AOL, LinkedIn, FBI, FDNY Engine 304, NYPD, Morgan Stanley, Michael Kors and Silverstein Properties. For a full list of this year's partners, please visit www.tuesdayschildren.org.
