The Meemic Foundation Announces Six New Board Members
AUBURN HILLS, Mich., May 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Meemic Foundation, a non-profit organization created by Meemic Insurance Company that offers financial support to educators in Michigan, Illinois and Wisconsin, announced today the selection of six new educational and insurance industry leaders to serve on the Foundation's board of directors.
Irma Daniels served as an educator for more than 30 years in a variety of public education institutions in Wisconsin and Massachusetts. She has also been involved in business and civic affairs for several Wisconsin communities.
Miles J Postema is currently the Vice President and General Counsel for Michigan-based Ferris State University. Postema advises and represents the university in various legal matters. He confers with and advises university officials on a wide variety of legal matters and topics including issues related to public corporations, government regulatory compliance, constitutional law and general business matters.
Susan Rasmus serves as Executive Director for the Indian Prairie Educational Foundation in Illinois. Throughout her career in the educational community, she has been responsible for introducing strategic ideas that helped double annual income and developing strategies that increase sales with school districts nationwide.
Sharon Schmeling is the Executive Director for the Wisconsin Council of Religious and Independent Schools in Madison and has served in that position since the winter of 2015. She has nonprofit, government relations, and communications experience and has been heavily involved in the effort to protect and strengthen private education.
Zachary Wichmann has been the Director of Government Relations for the Catholic Conference of Illinois for over 16 years. He is responsible for coordinating projects and legislative activities, most notably in the areas of education, health care and civil law. He serves as the primary legislative advocate for Catholic schools in Illinois.
Joe Richardson Jr. is the current CEO of The Auto Club Group (ACG), the second largest AAA affiliate in North America with more than 9 million members. With over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, his priorities include maintaining a high level of service and enhancing value for existing AAA members while continuing to grow membership throughout ACG's 11-state footprint.
As Meemic Foundation board members, the six new inductees will support the organization's efforts to grow its influence, expand its reach and establish partnerships within the educational community. Each board member participates in the work of the Foundation, using their experience and expertise to advocate for education.
The full Meemic Foundation Board of Directors now consists of thirteen members.
