MILWAUKEE, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Marshall Funds today announced the appointment of C. Michael Robinson as senior vice president and director of Intermediary Distribution. Robinson will manage distribution of the funds through financial intermediaries such as registered investment advisers, broker dealers and the distribution platforms that interact with these firms.
"Mike's professional credentials will support our plans to expand distribution of the Marshall Funds," said Tommy Huie, CFA, president and chief investment officer of M&I Investment Management Corp., adviser to the Marshall Funds. "With seven of 11 funds (Investor class) earning either a four- or five-star overall Morningstar Rating™ as of June 30, 2010, the fund family's performance provides significant opportunity for growth in assets under management."

Funds that have a higher concentration of investments in a specific industry or sector may be subject to a higher degree of market risk than funds whose investments are more diversified.
For each fund with at least a three-year history, Morningstar calculates a Morningstar Rating™ based on a Morningstar risk-adjusted return measure that accounts for variation in a fund's monthly performance (including the effects of sales charges, loads, and redemption fees), placing more emphasis on downward variations and rewarding consistent performance. The top 10 percent of funds in each category receive five stars, the next 22.5 percent receive four stars, the next 35 percent receive three stars, the next 22.5 percent receive two stars and the bottom 10 percent receive one star. (Each share class is counted as a fraction of one fund within this scale and rated separately, which may cause slight variations in the distribution percentages.) The overall Morningstar Rating for a fund is derived from a weighted average of the performance figures associated with its three-, five- and 10-year (if applicable) Morningstar Rating metrics. Morningstar Ratings are for the Investor share class only; other classes may have different performance characteristics. © 2010 Morningstar, Inc. All Rights Reserved.
