The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation Announces Its New Brain Aneurysm Awareness Campaign And New Collaborators
NEW YORK, May 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation (TLCF) announced today that they have selected MWWPR and Ogilvy, as their agencies of record. MWWPR, a top five global independent firm and Ogilvy, one of the largest marketing and communications companies in the world, will work with the Foundation to launch a national campaign to create awareness and advance education for the signs, symptoms and risk factors for brain aneurysms.
"This is a critical step forward for the general public today and further demonstrates our commitment to leading the worldwide effort to raise awareness and educating people about a disease more prevalent than breast cancer," says Todd Crawford, founder and Executive Director of TLCF. "Most people don't realize there are warning signs for brain aneurysms and that lives can be saved. Even though we are just beginning, we are proud to share that we have already saved at least 8 lives through our awareness efforts. We are thrilled to have two of the top PR firms in the world partnering with us as we set out to make brain aneurysms part of the national healthcare dialogue and today's announcement represents the first in a series by TLCF that will be game-changing for the entire industry."
In September of 2015, TLCF was founded by Todd in honor of his wife Lisa Colagrossi, a very popular and well-known television journalist who is best known for her work with ABC News. After experiencing an excruciating headache (a warning sign for brain aneurysm), Lisa went to work one morning and tragically fell victim to a massive brain aneurysm. She left behind Todd and her two young sons - Davis and Evan. Learning that her headache was a sign of brain aneurysm and that Lisa might have been saved, Todd decided to dedicate the rest of his life to the Foundation so he can help stop brain aneurysms and save lives.
In addition to awareness and education, TLCF will support cutting-edge brain aneurysm research and support initiatives with the overall goal of saving lives. Because Lisa was a beloved broadcaster, there has been rapid uptake for the Foundation with business leaders, medical professionals, professional athletes and other influential personalities who were also touched by brain aneurysms and are now pledging to work with TLCF in support of its mission.
"All of us at Ogilvy are very committed to helping Todd advance this cause as our dear friend and colleague of more than 10 years recently passed away from a brain aneurysm," says Kate Cronin, Managing Director of Ogilvy PR. "We also believe, as the creators of the original Red Dress campaign for women, the CDC screening initiative with Katie Couric and the Lance Armstrong Foundation, that we are uniquely equipped to launch a powerful life-saving campaign on behalf of The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation."
"Todd Crawford's mission to raise awareness and increase early detection of brain aneurysm resonates strongly with us at MWWPR," said Michael W. Kempner, President & CEO of MWWPR. "We are honored to partner with The Lisa Colagrossi Foundation, leveraging our storytelling abilities to amplify this critical message and help save lives."
