WASHINGTON, July 23, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Monday, July 25, The Latino Coalition (TLC), the leading national non-partisan advocacy organization representing Hispanic businesses and consumers, in conjunction with The Hill Latino and the Congressional Hispanic Leadership Institute will host The New Face of Energy: A Discussion with Latino Leaders on Energy Policy in Philadelphia, PA.
"After an incredibly successful event during the GOP Convention, we are looking forward to the Democratic Convention to continue discussing the leading topics that are pivotal in this election year," said Hector Barreto, TLC's Chairman and Former Administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration. "Latinos are not a monolithic voting bloc and are interested in topics ranging from the economy to national security, as well energy and environmental policy which are growing concerns for the Latino community."
With this high-impact event, taking place at The Hill's Hub at CityView, The New Face of Energy will discuss how energy and environmental policy shape our economy and the growing Latino vote. The briefing will bring party leaders and key strategists together to take a deep dive into environmental issues, the electorate's priorities, recent polling, in addition to taking an up-close look at the candidate's energy policies.
"Energy is considered the next economic boom and developing effective policy, as well as understanding how it will affect the Latino community, is important for the future of our nation," Barreto adds.
Furthermore, The Latino Coalition will be engaging in a top-level executive interview with the President of Electric Operations for PG&E, Geisha J. Williams. As the first-ever Latina appointed President of a regulated utility in the country, Williams will be recognized and acknowledged for her leadership, dedication and contributions to the energy industry and the Latino community.
