The Haven Substance Abuse Recovery Center Adopts Q2i's CASA Technology to Increase Efficacy of After-Treatment Care
BOSTON, Feb. 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- Q2i, a provider of technology that improves patient care by enabling better information exchange between patients and their healthcare teams, today announced that The Haven, a Tucson, AZ-based recovery center that treats substance abuse in women, is using Q2i's Continuing Alumni Support Application (CASA) as a way to continue to motivate and support patients who have completed their residential or outpatient treatment programs – leading to improved outcomes.
The Haven offers comprehensive services for women recovering from alcohol, opioid, and other drug dependencies, including residential, interim housing, outpatient, intensive outpatient programs, and continuing care services at any stage of the recovery process.
"It's commonly understood that a patient is likely to be more vulnerable to relapse once s/he leaves the support and group dynamics of a treatment program," said Dr. Margaret Higgins, Executive Director of The Haven. "Our goal with CASA is to extend the supportive and motivating environment patients find inside The Haven to their life outside of treatment – to help them to stay in recovery and achieve a better quality of life."
CASA consists of a care team portal and a patient mobile app. It includes features – including HIPAA-compliant messaging, survey capabilities, and the ability to easily distribute educational material – that let treatment centers securely stay in touch with the alumni of their programs, and to easily distribute after-care information, surveys, appointment reminders, and other materials that will keep these patients motivated to continue in recovery. In addition, patients benefit from CASA's peer networking groups that let them continue the supportive relationships they established while in treatment.
"Our after-care programming is designed to help our program alumni stay engaged in their recovery," continued Dr. Higgins. "With CASA, we not only can easily deliver program information right to a patient's phone – which should improve attendance – but we can also gather feedback and participation data that let us refine our programs over time to maximize efficacy."
The Haven's non-profit mission is to offer the highest quality prevention and treatment services for women who wish to overcome their substance use dependency. The Haven offers women 'Recovery with Respect' while encouraging their spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical development.
Q2i collaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, providers and payers to understand and then realize unmet technology needs. We facilitate improvements in patient care by supporting patients with their treatment plans through better connection and information exchange with their healthcare teams.
