CENTER CITY, Minn., Sept. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Haven at College, which offers on-campus addiction treatment and recovery support services at premiere universities across the U.S., will join the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation's innovative new Patient Care Network.
The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation launched its Patient Care Network—the first of its kind in the addiction treatment industry— last month, with the highly respected Avera Health system of South Dakota as its first member.
"We know that longer-term engagement with recovery services and opportunities to learn and build life skills are keys to successful recovery from addiction to opioids, alcohol and other drugs," said Bob Poznanovich, executive director of business development for the national nonprofit addiction treatment provider Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. "The Haven at College shares our strong commitment to addressing the addiction crisis, and our new clinical collaboration will help provide the critical combination of care and education to many more young people across this country."
"The Haven at College has deeply valued the collaboration we've had with the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation in the past in developing innovative solutions to address substance use disorders on college campuses" said Sharon Weber, co-founder of The Haven at College. "We are honored to be part of this leading-edge network of healthcare providers who are as passionate as we are about helping individuals reclaim their lives from the disease of addiction."
Members of the Hazelden Betty Ford Patient Care Network like The Haven at College gain access to tools, resources and collaborative consultation for their organization's leadership, staff, patients, families and communities. This is especially timely as the nation's opioid crisis places added pressures on young people and their families. To learn more, visit www.hazeldenbettyford.org/professionals/patient-care-network.
"This collaboration is all about helping more young people succeed and extending our experience and expertise to each other," said Poznanovich. "A key part of our aim with the Patient Care Network is to share knowledge with and among our like-minded network members, and to foster strategic collaboration opportunities that broaden our clinical expertise and improve patient care. We are grateful to work with The Haven on providing recovery support in educational environments."
