The FADER, the publication that originally brought The FADER FORT to Austin in 2001, has been credited with bringing early performances of then unknown acts including The Black Keys, Florence and the Machine, Amy Winehouse, Sam Smith, and more to the stage early on in their careers. The programming for this year's FADER FORT, now expanded to six full days, is focused on bringing the magic of discovery back to audiences across the expanding scope of the publication's coverage through tech, comedy, art, style, and music.
"The FADER FORT is such an important time of year for our brand, and after 15 years of bringing it to Austin, we've been amazed to see the incredible response from artists and our readers," said Andy Cohn, president and publisher of The FADER. "This year we're bringing along additional partners to turn our four-day event into a six-day takeover of our iconic 3-acre lot, and more importantly, we're continuing to bring the magic of discovery to fans with a lineup of artists and creators that we're incredibly excited to introduce to our audience early on."
For the first time, The FADER is expanding its presence in Austin to cover six days of programming, which includes a two-day, first-time partnership with Toyota and the all-new Prius. From March 14-15, 3-8pm, Toyota Presents The Arcade at The FADER FORT will feature various stations and performances from emerging and established names in tech, gaming, and comedy, that will carry into the rest of the week's activities. Programming at The Arcade will be announced later this week on TheFADER.com.
"Toyota recognizes that consumers are just as passionate about environmental stewardship as they are music and technology," says Dionne Colvin-Lovely, Director, Traditional and New Media, Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. "Partnering with The FADER provides a unique opportunity to merge two worlds our guests have a vested interest in, while inviting them to engage with the all-new Prius in an interactive and experiential way."
In its fifth year as the presenting partner for The FADER FORT, Converse, Inc. is back to support and showcase emerging artists and culture in Austin from March 16-19. The FADER FORT Presented by Converse provides a one-of-a-kind environment for music fans to take part during the four-day festival.
