LAUREL, Md., Sept. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The past several weeks have been exceedingly difficult for the communities affected by the hurricanes that devastated areas of Texas, Florida and the Caribbean. Our crew members and our company have been deeply moved by the impact of these natural disasters and are working with our industry partners to deliver food, water and needed supplies to Harvey's victims. The Coastal Companies ("Coastal") just sent its third trailer load of relief to Houston Food Bank (http://www.houstonfoodbank.org), a vital resource for many Houston residents in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
Community is a large part of company culture at Coastal. In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, Coastal crew members were determined to help Houston residents meet basic needs and reached out to our industry partners in order to help make it happen. Many were eager to join us, and their responsiveness and generosity in supporting this relief mission are sincerely appreciated. Together with our partners, we have shipped three tractor-trailers to Houston, delivering produce, dairy, beverages, and supplies, starting with the first shipment sent on Sept. 4.
We want to thank all of the Coastal partners that have participated in this effort, including: Deluxe Logistics; Monumental Vending Inc.; Graul's Markets; Frank Donio, Inc.; Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms; Hillandale Farms Inc.; Lambeth Groves LLC; Saratoga Spring Water Co.; Norfolk Banana Distributors, Inc.; Richardson Farms; Torn & Glasser; Coosemans L.A. Shipping, Inc.; M&C Transportation; and B.K. Miller Co.
The need for disaster relief is even greater after Hurricane Irma wreaked havoc in Florida and the Caribbean Islands, and with Hurricane Maria about to strike the Caribbean. The Coastal Companies encourage food service providers to join us and generously assist those affected by the very serious consequences of these storms.
