The Bank of Princeton Announces Fourth Quarter and Full-Year 2012 Results
PRINCETON, N.J., Jan. 31, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bank of Princeton (the "Bank") today announced unaudited results for the quarter and year ended December 31, 2012.
- Fourth Quarter 2012 Net income of $2.0 million, or $0.44 per share
- Full-year 2012 Net income of $6.3 million, or $1.38 per share
- Total deposits increased $77 million, or 13 percent, from December 31, 2011 to December 31, 2012
- Net loans grew $126 million, or 31 percent, from December 31, 2011 to December 31, 2012
"The Bank of Princeton has completed another solid year of growth and earnings," said Edward Dietzler, the Bank's President.
For the quarter ended December 31, 2012, net income was $2.0 million, an increase of $1.2 million, or 143 percent, from the same period in 2011. Earnings per common share were $0.44, an increase of $0.26 from the same period in 2011. The increase in net income was primarily attributable to a 69 percent increase in net interest income after provision for loan losses.
For the year ended December 31, 2012, net income was $6.3 million, an increase of $3.5 million, or 124 percent, from the prior year. Earnings per common share were $1.38, an increase of 100 percent from the prior year. The increase in net income was primarily attributable to a 52 percent increase in net interest income after provision for loan losses.
For the year ended December 31, 2012, the Bank's total assets increased to $769 million, an increase of $104 million, or 16 percent, from December 31, 2011. Additionally, total deposits increased to $672 million, an increase of $77 million, or 13 percent, from December 31, 2011. This was the result of growing the Bank through "de novo" branch openings and organic growth through the Bank's existing branch network. The Bank opened two new branches in 2012, bringing the number of branches to 13 and further strengthening its presence in the central New Jersey and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania areas.
"Our continued success reflects our on-going commitment to our customers and the community we serve," said board member Judith A. Giacin, Chair of the Audit Committee.
