Teletrac® Accelerates Fleet Safety and Efficiency with Latest Release of Fleet Director®
Unique Combinations of Powerful New Features Offer Flexible Options for Fleets of All Sizes
GARDEN GROVE, Calif., April 23, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Teletrac, an award-winning GPS fleet tracking and telematics provider for more than 24 years, today announced availability of the latest release of its core software platform, Fleet Director. Fleet Director 9 combines new business intelligence technologies and the latest in-cab color touchscreen tablets with 2-way messaging, fleet tracking, navigation and safety analytics capabilities that have long made Fleet Director an industry leading solution. With Fleet Director, operations managers—across industry segments including trucking, HVAC, energy and mining, construction, transportation and specialty services—run fleets more efficiently, at lower cost, while improving driver safety and productivity.
"Teletrac has a strong track record of bringing innovative solutions to market that set the standard for efficient fleet operations, safe driving, and full FMCSA and DOT compliance," said Drew Hamilton, executive vice president, Teletrac. "We are extremely proud to launch Fleet Director 9 and encouraged by positive customer feedback particularly on new features that enhance the driver experience and focus on safer driving."
"Highway safety is a driving force behind virtually everything Alamo does in transport, from its careful selection of high quality owner-operators, to requiring that every truck be Teletrac-equipped," said Gene Davis, compliance supervisor, Alamo Transit Co. LTD, a Buzzi Unicem company. "Fleet Director's newest on-board navigation combined with the in-cab color tablet with Hours of Service (HOS) and eLogs, offers even more support for safer driving. Tablet screens are bright and easy to read. New navigation capabilities provide helpful information for drivers such as street address overlaid on maps, and HOS data entry and workflow is intuitive. Additionally, violations warnings, 2-way messaging between drivers and dispatch, status updates plus data contained within eLogs are highly visible," concluded Davis.
New In-Cab Color Tablet Improves the Driver Experience
With Fleet Director 9, users get a highly functional in-cab display and messaging unit. Vibrantly-colored screens provide enhanced visibility for drivers. All software capabilities including on-board navigation with turn-by-turn driving instructions and lane guidance, HOS with eLogs and 2-way messaging are now available on one unit. Its large screen size also allows drivers to see incoming messages from dispatch regarding job details —while in navigation mode— to keep communications fast, simple and efficient. Fleet Director Tablet is offered in 5 and 7 inch versions.
Safety Analytics Offer New Insights
The latest driver safety dashboards and event replay of unsafe driving events, helps to monitor safety-related activity. For example, dashboards show best and worst drivers in the fleet. Dangerous driving behavior can be visualized in map views, and individual incidents can be "played back" just as they happened in real time. Also, Fleet Director 9 gives users even more flexible ways to manage specific driver information and records. Drivers can be organized into driver subgroups for convenience, and assigned to watchlists. The driver's name is dynamically assigned to the vehicle, enabling all status updates and messages to be automatically accompanied by the driver's name.
Hours of Service Eliminates Paper Logs
Fleet Director 9 makes eliminating time-consuming and error-prone manual logbooks even easier with the new in-cab color tablet —streamlining the process of entering, recording, completing and storing all required information for drivers' logbooks — right from the cab. The interactive and intuitive screen flows, combined with navigational features and violation alerts, help meet federal guidelines more efficiently and at lower cost.
New Business Intelligence Platform Provides Customized On-The-Fly Reporting
With Fleet Director 9 users get extremely flexible and quick custom reporting. Select data via "drag and drop" tools for analysis and report generation from a list of metrics, generating custom reports in only a few minutes. Or, quickly generate multiple chart types against specific data and include multiple accounts linked together, viewing an entire organization on one dashboard or report. The new Business Intelligence Platform offers a significant step-change in report processing speeds.
