Telcordia IP Assure Selected by Defense Information Systems Agency
Addresses Security, Availability and Regulatory Compliance Issues on Diverse, Large-Scale IP Networks that Connect U.S. and International Government Agencies
PISCATAWAY, N.J., May 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Telcordia, a global leader in the development of IP, wireline, and mobile telecommunications software and services, today announced that its award winning Telcordia® IP Assure product was selected by the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) to address security, availability and regulatory compliance issues across diverse, large-scale IP networks that connect U.S. and international government agencies. IP Assure rapidly identifies where network problems exist, cuts mean time to repair (MTTR) by orders of magnitude and addresses critical security needs.
DISA issued a sole-source procurement for IP Assure that states, "Only [Telcordia] produced an advanced concept product to address the synthesis and debugging problems of the Combined Enterprise Regional Information Exchange System (CENTRIXS) network. Many tools exist that can perform parts of configuration analysis, but software developed by Telcordia is the only software to perform this function from disparate network devices, compare the configurations to implementation policy, and also propose solutions to fix the identified errors."
"IP network equipment, policies and conditions change constantly, which leads to configuration errors that contribute to more than 60 percent of cyber attacks and downtime, and places critical importance on the need to ensure that networks are secure, compliant and available," said Adam Drobot, CTO & President, Advanced Technology Solutions, Telcordia. "IP Assure provides complete IP network awareness that will improve network security, eliminate single points of failure and significantly reduce network configuration management costs."
IP Assure's distributed architecture can be expanded to handle increased network loads, offering a high degree of scalability as DISA grows its IP network infrastructure. It supports a wide range of new IP network devices and protocols, and will be customized to support DISA's complete portfolio of devices and policies.
Drobot noted that IP Assure evolved from a multi-year research engagement that was funded by the U.S. government and development funded by Telcordia. The software supports globally dispersed government agencies and users, performing automatic, non-intrusive analyses of all IP routers, switches and firewalls in the distributed network to proactively detect problems and offer clear remediation recommendations.
