John R. Quain to aid organizers of the North American Safe Driving Summit in formulating agenda, selecting presenters.
WASHINGTON, Aug. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The North American Safe Driving Summit announced today that John R. Quain, Technology Writer, Reporter, and Television Correspondent has joined the Driving Summit Advisory Board. The Driving Summit will convene May 15-17, 2013, at the Phoenix Convention Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Mr. Quain writes for The New York Times and U.S. News and World Report and is an on- air reporter for CBS News Up to the Minute. His articles have appeared in Esquire, Rolling Stone, and Entertainment Weekly. Quain's reporting and analysis may be found online at www.j-q.com.
"Until now, there has never been a singular place for stakeholders to come together to share their advances in safe-driving technologies and programs. The North American Safe Driving Summit will fill that void," Quain said.
The Driving Summit aims to expand stakeholder support for policies, programs, and technologies developed to reduce impaired, distracted, and drowsy driving.
North American Safe Driving Summit spokesperson Donna Kelley said, "Mr. Quain's in-depth knowledge of technologies -- from apps to prevent distracted driving, to self-driving cars -- will be tremendously valuable as we put together the Driving Summit's content agenda and select our presenters and exhibitors."
The Driving Summit has issued a Call for Presenters, which is available at www.drivingsummit.org. The Driving Summit Advisory Board will aid organizers in determining which presentation proposals should be accepted for inclusion in the Driving Summit agenda.
Participants in the North American Safe Driving Summit will include industry executives, policy makers, researchers, risk management personnel, attorneys, and not-for-profit leaders, among others. Individuals who register for the Driving Summit before September 30, 2012, will receive a fee reduction.
