Tea Party Tracking Poll: America Agrees with Rush Limbaugh, Obama Won't Move to Center
51% of likely voters don't believe Obama will become more moderate if he is countered by a GOP Congress
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- PJTV's Tea Party TV today unveiled the results of their weekly Tea Party poll, which revealed that just 37 percent of respondents believe President Obama will pursue a more moderate agenda if Republicans take back Congress in November, while 51 percent believe the president will not.
"A Republican victory would restore a checks and balances system in Washington," said VikRubenfeld, PJTV's Polling Director. "Typically, a Republican Congress and Democratic president, or vice versa, will encourage compromise between the two ideologies. However, our research reveals that more than half of likely voters do not believe President Obama will migrate to the center, if he is paired with a Republican Congress."
The weekly PJTV/Pulse Opinion Research nationwide survey of 1,000 likely voters tracks Tea Party support as well as provides a snapshot of public opinion regarding the week's top issues. In addition to the findings above, over half of likely voters (53%) believe the Tea Party movement will dominate the Republican Party in 2012. The nationwide tracking survey also showed that the Tea Party movement is maintaining the support of 55 percent of respondents.
