TBWA\Chiat\Day Announces New Executive Hires and Promotions in New York

NEW YORK, June 9, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- TBWA\Chiat\Day today elevated Aki Spicer, previously Director of Digital Strategy and Content Planning, to the newly created role of Chief Digital Officer. The agency also announced that it has elevated Executive Director of Engagement Evan Weissbrot to Chief Engagement Officer. Spicer and Weissbrot will round out the agency management team, joining CEO Rob Schwartz, Managing Director Nancy Reyes, Global Business Development Director Kyla Jacobs, and Chief Creative Officer Chris Garbutt.
Additionally, the agency has hired Trish Schmitt and Ted Guidotti as Global Creative Directors, and elevated Group Executive Producer Jason Souter to Head of Integrated Production.

Aki Spicer joined TBWA in 2013 as Director of Digital Strategy and Content Planning, and has been instrumental in implementing comprehensive, forward-thinking digital and content platforms across all agency clients, including GoDaddy, Michelin, and Sport Chek. A key leader within TBWA's Digital Arts Network, Aki is also credited also responsible for building and enriching the agency's social media capabilities and has been a key digital lead for new business. Prior to TBWA, Spicer was Director of Digital Strategy at Fallon.
As Chief Engagement Officer, Evan Weissbrot will work to involve TBWA clients in culture through continuous transformation of cultural insights and data into exciting, new creative territories, positioning audience needs and passions at the heart of strategic delivery and content experiences.
Weissbrot joined TBWA in 2014 to lead Nissan United's NURVE (Nissan United Real-Time Vision for Engagement) Center, a social business team, working to harness the power of real-time data, to create actionable insights and engage audiences across multiple Nissan business units. Prior to TBWA, Weissbrot was Global Account Director at OMD, focusing on media investment strategy for Nissan. He also served as U.S. Vice President, Group Director for media and communications planning on BMW and Verizon Wireless.
Trish Schmitt and Ted Guidotti have joined the agency as Global Creative Directors. The duo, who have worked together for over 17 years at various agencies and in their own freelance creative collaboration, have assumed creative leadership of TBWA\Chiat\Day's Accenture account, a marquee global client that has been with the agency since 2010. Together, they lead a robust creative team across TBWA's New York and Paris offices, and they report to Chief Creative Officer Chris Garbutt.
Schmitt and Guidotti joined TBWA after three years at mcgarrybowen New York, where they developed brand campaigns for flagship clients including Chevron, JPMorgan Chase, and Roundabout Theatre Company. Additionally, the team founded and served as Creative Directors at Mighty Splinter, their proprietary creative collaboration as well as spring, a group of writers, designers, filmmakers and brand consultants.
The agency also announced today that Jason Souter has been named Head of Integrated Production. Souter has been with TBWA\Chiat\Day since 2004, when he joined as an Associate Broadcast Producer and rose to the role of Group Executive Producer. Specializing in film craft, he has produced Cannes, One Show, D&AD, and AICP awarding-winning film, TV, digital and experiential content for several marquis clients including Michelin, Kraft, Absolut, Jameson, Skittles and Planters.
