Winning Video Receives $10,000 Room Redesign with Professional Decorator
PHOENIX, Oct. 19, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Taylor Morrison is bringing great home design and family memories together in its latest social media contest, Homemade Memories.
Designed to celebrate those binding memories that turn a house into a home, the contest focuses on finding the best homemade memory that was captured on video and rewarding the grand prize winner with a $10,000 room makeover from a Taylor Morrison designer.
"The saying that a house is more than brick and mortar really rings true at Taylor Morrison," said Graham Hughes, vice president of corporate sales and marketing at Taylor Morrison. "We make it a point to not just build houses, but to provide the opportunity for our homeowners to create the emotions and feelings that truly make a home – and that is what we want to celebrate with our Homemade Memories campaign."
From October 12 to November 15, the national homebuilder is asking people to grab their cellphones, video cameras or GoPros to record the most special moments made in their homes. All submissions will have a chance to be become part of a social media crowdsourcing contest to determine the best homemade memory of the year.
Each week during the contest period, Taylor Morrison will pick two videos to advance to the final round of voting. The weekly semi-finalists will receive GoPro cameras for their efforts. Then, from November 16 to 22, all of the semi-finalists will be presented online, allowing the public to vote for the grand prize winner.
Hughes said the contest is just the latest way Taylor Morrison is marrying the experiences of its customers with the design of a home. Earlier this year, the builder initiated MyModel Home Project, a social media crowdsourcing experience targeted at picking out design elements for model homes in multiple markets. The campaign was such a success that using crowdsourcing elements as part of Homemade Memories was a logical next step.
