NEW YORK, Feb. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The Tax Governance Institute (TGI) will hold a live video Webcast to discuss the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announcement of a proposed tax return schedule requiring many large corporate taxpayers to disclose their uncertain tax positions and quantify the maximum related financial exposure. The Webcast, "Disclosing Uncertain Tax Positions to the Internal Revenue Service: A Conversation with the Chief Counsel of the IRS," is scheduled for Tuesday, March 2, from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. (ET).

Sharing their insights on the topic will be panelists:
- William Wilkins, IRS Chief Counsel, who will provide further details on the IRS's new requirement, as featured panelist on the program.

- Mark Bielstein, partner in charge of KPMG LLP's Accounting Group Department of Professional Practice, who will address issues of concern to auditors.
The Webcast is being presented as a follow-up to the January 26, 2010 announcement of the new schedule by Commissioner of Internal Revenue Douglas Shulman. Announcement 2010-9 provides details and solicits public comments, to be submitted to the IRS by March 29, 2010.
