Leadership America, one of the longest running national women's leadership programs in the world, was established in 1988 to recognize and bring together accomplished women who have achieved success in their professions, their communities and beyond. The 2010 program will explore the ramifications of a rapidly changing global environment where boundaries are blurred and borders are diminished.
The international part of the program will take 15 women leaders to the United Arab Emirates, where they will visit the three largest dynamic city-states of United Arab Emirates, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. The cross-cultural experience will provide opportunities for participants to make international connections; engage in conversations with business, civic and cultural leaders in the UAE; speak with those establishing education partnerships with American universities; explore business potential; and learn the realities of overseas assignments in conversations with nationals and ex-patriots working and living in the UAE.
"I am proud to be a part of the 2010 Class and look forward to a fascinating trip," said Rozhon. "As world business, the economy and education become increasingly interconnected, I believe a global perspective and multi-cultural sensitivity will be critical in the development of dedicated and innovative leaders who can achieve both business success and serve the greater good."
Rozhon has 20 years of higher education experience including specialized, comprehensive, community college, and research institutions. She has extensive knowledge in matters of governance, institutional effectiveness, and academic administration, and has taught at the community college level and in a community based English-as-as-second language program. At TCS Education System, a not-for-profit higher education organization, Rozhon is responsible for strategic operations and business expansion, overseeing marketing, admissions, student affairs, and international affairs. She also manages System operations for all affiliated schools. She holds a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania and has presented on issues of change management in higher education at a variety of education-related conferences.
