Talking Rain Beverage Co. Honored with American Cancer Society's Find Cures Award
Company Donates Over $47,000 to Cancer Research and Prevention Programs in 2016
PRESTON, Wash., Nov. 16, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Talking Rain® Beverage Company, the maker of Sparkling Ice® flavored sparkling waters, has been named the 2016 winner of the American Cancer Society Find Cures Award for raising significant funds toward American Cancer Society (ACS) Research with the Great West Division. The company was recognized at the 2016 Legacy and Leadership Awards Ceremony on November 10th at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center. Alongside fundraising for ACS, Talking Rain has supported and donated over $47,000 toward cancer research and prevention programs throughout 2016 via a custom Pink Ribbon bottle, sponsorships of various Susan G. Komen races and participation in the American Cancer Society's "Real Men Wear Pink" campaign and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. Talking Rain's year-long dedication to raising funds for breast cancer culminated in a presentation of their donations to the American Cancer Society on November 15th at Talking Rain Beverage Company.
Custom Pink Grapefruit Bottle
As part of the company's year-long mission to "Imagine a World Without Breast Cancer", Sparkling Ice has proudly displayed a pink ribbon on all Pink Grapefruit bottles since 2015. In 2016, Sparkling Ice once again will donate $25,000 in additional donations toward breast cancer research.
Susan G. Komen Regional Support
This past year, Talking Rain served as an official regional sponsor for nine Susan G. Komen races, lending support by providing nearly 34,000 Sparkling Ice bottles to race participants. Talking Rain will continue to show their support for Susan G. Komen initiatives throughout 2017 in a multitude of markets including Seattle, Portland, New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago, and more.
Real Men Wear Pink
Talking Rain employees showed support for Breast Cancer Awareness with company-wide fundraising and competition through the Real Men Wear Pink campaign, which includes a distinguished group of community leaders raising awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" initiative. Throughout October, Talking Rain President and CEO Kevin Klock competed against Chief Financial Officer Marcus Smith to wear pink daily and raise funds across their personal networks. Employees participated in weekly challenges by wearing pink on Thursdays, pie eating competitions, relay races, "pink" bake-offs and much more. Each challenge was an opportunity to earn points for Team Kevin and Team Marcus. Talking Rain matched all employee donations raised, helping the company raise over $13,000.
