FARGO, N.D. and CHICAGO, Oct. 18, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- In the entertainment world, winning four major industry awards earns coveted EGOT status – Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony. In the wellness world, there's no EGOT status, but if there were – Swanson Health would be crushing it in 2018 by walking away with five top industry accolades and a prestigious award for employee culture.
Swanson Health, a leader in vitamins, supplements and wellness solutions for nearly five decades, was recently recognized for its innovative new products and exceptional customer service. Product honorees included a plant-based omega-3, joint health and eye health supplements, and customer service was recognized for remarkable social media and front-line service teams. Additionally, the Swanson's Chicago office was acknowledged as one of the city's "Best Places to Work."
"We're thrilled to be recognized across all aspects of our business," said Katie Doyle, Chief Executive Officer of Swanson Health. "From our science-backed innovative vitamins and supplements, to our commitment to exceptional customer care, it's our talented employees who make it all possible. These awards are a testament to their creativity, agility and teamwork, and we are both honored and proud."
Swanson Health has won the following 2018 awards:
Customer Care
Earlier this year, Swanson was awarded Best Social Media Customer Care by The International Customer Management Institute (ICMI) during the ICMI Contact Center Expo. The ICMI's Global Contact Center Awards recognize excellence in contact centers around the world. This validates Swanson's commitment to providing the best customer care, which is further supported by its high comparative Net Promoter Score (NPS) of 87 and Stella scores averaging 951.
Swanson also received the globally recognized Silver Stevie Award for Front-Line Customer Service Team of the Year. The Stevie Awards for Sales & Customer Service recognize organizations worldwide for their achievements in sales, customer service and call centers. "We're proud to have brought customer response times down to less than 15 seconds on average between 6am and midnight to win this award," said Damian Holznagel, Director of Customer Service, Swanson Health. "This recognition, on top of our industry-leading NPS and Stella scores, demonstrates the best-in-class customer satisfaction our wellness advocates deliver."
Innovation
Over the past 50 years, Swanson has kept pace with consumers' changing health needs through research and quality products. Their trend-forward wellness solutions are stronger than ever, as evidenced by award-winning products that continue to focus on nourishing ingredients, transparency and clean labels.
This summer, Swanson's Plant Based Omega-3 supplement earned the NutraIngredients-USA Product of the Year Award for omega-3 products. Launched in 2017, the vegan, non-GMO omega-3 product delivers the highest concentration of EPA and DHA available in a plant-based product.
Swanson's Vision Defense was among the elite products honored by Delicious Living Magazine's Annual Supplement Awards in the Eye Health category at Natural Products Expo West earlier this year. Vision Defense is a powerful formula designed to protect eyes from harmful overexposure to blue light from digital devices. The supplement includes Lutemax® 2020, a naturally derived marigold extract that provides important macular carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin. A recent study on Lutemax 2020 reflected significant visual and neuroprotective benefits. More recently, Vision Defense was named one of the top five finalists in the SupplySide West CPG Editor's Choice Awards in the Specialty Supplement Category.
Swanson's Pure Science Herbals product, Pure Joint, has also been named one of the top five finalists in the SupplySide West CPG Editor's Choice Awards, this time in the Joint Health Category, for its clinically-backed effectiveness at promoting joint comfort in as few as 7 days. The SupplySide West category awards recognize research-based products that promote life-long health and wellness among consumers. Category winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in November.
Leadership and Culture
None of these accolades would be possible without strong leadership and a collaborative culture.
Earlier this year, Swanson was named no. 23 on Crain's Chicago Business' prestigious annual 100 Best Places to Work in Chicago awards. This honor recognizes companies that lead in fostering highly sought-after workplaces – from office comforts and culture, to employee benefits and competitive salaries.
Swanson's CEO, Katie Doyle, is a finalist in the 15th Annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business, and will ultimately be a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Stevie Award winner for Female Executive of the Year (Consumer Products – 11 to 2,500 Employees). Hailed as the world's premier business awards, the Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees and the companies they run – worldwide. Winners will be announced in conjunction with the Women|Future Conference in November.
Swanson's dedication to creating an environment of equality and upward career opportunity spans both Chicago and Fargo, ND, offices. Most notably, women make up more than half of its employees and hold many top leadership positions – including 41 percent of management roles which is higher than the national average2.
