SUSTA'S 'Report to the Community - Summer 2010' Demonstrates How Companies Can Grow Through Exporting
NEW ORLEANS, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Southern United States Trade Association's "Report to the Community – Summer 2010" is now available online at www.susta.org, and it demonstrates to small companies that want to increase their sales and profitability how they can achieve those goals through exporting.
"There is no doubt that the global economic slump has been challenging," says Jerry Hingle, SUSTA Executive Director. "However, companies that have forged ahead during this difficult economy by promoting their brands overseas are seeing direct benefits to their bottom lines."
Bernadette Wiltz, SUSTA's Deputy Director and International Marketing Director, believes that "the roadmap we feature in our report, along with an impressive story of success that one of our participating companies has produced, can motivate others to look into the power that exporting U.S. agricultural products offers."
The report illustrates show small U.S. companies are making sales overseas despite global economic challenges; provides an overview of the cycle that many companies follow as they pursue export opportunities through SUSTA programs; and features a success story from Ford's Fancy Foods, a North Carolina company that has grown internationally with SUSTA's help.
SUSTA is a non-profit trade development association comprised of the Departments of Agriculture of the 15 southern states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. Since 1973, its programs and services have assisted exporters of high-value food and agricultural products. SUSTA is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), its member states and private companies.
