Susan McPherson Promoted to Director of Global Marketing at Fenton
NEW YORK, Jan. 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Fenton has promoted Susan McPherson to its first director of global marketing.
The appointment comes two months after the announcement of Fenton's first office overseas in London, and the development of a global network of like-minded public interest agencies.
McPherson has served as a senior vice president at Fenton's New York office for 20-months and was instrumental in growing the firm's corporate responsibility (CR) practice, securing several marquis Fortune 500 clients.
In her expanded role, McPherson will continue to drive growth and engagement for Fenton's CSR practice. She will also drive visibility for the firm overall and provide support as it grows into new international regions.
Prior to joining Fenton, McPherson was vice president of CSR services at PR Newswire, a leading provider of electronic news distribution, media targeting, and measurement and multimedia services. At PR Newswire she created product offerings for companies to better communicate their CSR activities with stakeholders, in addition to generating new business for the newswire. Earlier roles with the company included assisting in development of the firm's first bureaus in China (Beijing and Shanghai) and the launch of MediaSense, a media measurement tool. Prior to her career at PR Newswire, she worked in both the editorial and marketing departments of USA Today.
McPherson regularly writes and speaks on sustainability communications, stakeholder engagement and the value of public/private partnerships. She has more than 20 years experience in marketing, public relations, CSR communications and business development. She serves on the board of Bpeace, an organization dedicated to assisting women in regions of conflict and post-conflict start businesses and is a member of Echoing Green's Social Investment Council, Social Media Week's New York Advisory Council and the New York Leadership team for 85Broads. Additionally, she serves as an adviser to Positive Luxury, a sustainable luxury commerce hub, Plant A Fish, She's the First, The Adventure Project and The OpEd Project. McPherson was recently selected to be a Vital Voices Corporate Ambassador.
"Susan is the first full-time person dedicated to marketing Fenton in our 30-year history. Her appointment not only speaks to her talent but also the firm's desire to have more impact on global issues such as the environment, economic empowerment, health and development," said Chief Change Officer Lisa Witter.
