JDL HealthTech Survey Finds Slow Systems Create Productivity Nightmares
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Nov. 16, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- A new survey conducted by JDL HealthTech reveals that the single greatest source of frustration among healthcare providers, in terms of technology, is system sluggishness. System slow-downs occur much too frequently, according to survey respondents, and create productivity nightmares for medical offices, private practices, and even hospitals.
Other common pain points include software malfunctions, programs and applications that aren't user-friendly, and systems that don't integrate well, in particular electronic medical records and practice management systems, according to survey respondents.
The survey was fielded to a community of more than ten thousand healthcare providers in the Southeast. More than 80 percent of survey respondents were physicians, owners and presidents of healthcare organizations ranging from three to more than 400 employees.
"As a leader in providing health information technologies and services, JDL HealthTech routinely monitors the pulse of the healthcare industry," said Scott Fluegge, president and general manager of JDL Technologies, parent company of JDL HealthTech and JDL TechWatch. "We use the information to detect trends and changes in use, and to develop relevant new services for our clients."
Many factors can cause systems to run slowly. Some of the most common are viruses and malware, bandwidth-hogging applications, and overloaded hard drives. JDL HealthTech offers a system diagnostic service that identifies the causes of sluggishness and latency and recommends corrective actions to reduce or eliminate the problems.
In addition to the recent healthcare provider survey, JDL is currently polling CIOs and information technology vice presidents and directors regarding the use of managed IT services in their organizations. Survey results will be published in an ebook in January. The company has won several awards for its informative, easy to read ebooks on current topics.
