Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union Chooses Diebold as Single-Source ATM and Integrated Services Partner
The largest credit union in Florida reenergizes its ATM fleet with the latest advanced capabilities
Through its integrated services portfolio, Diebold provides advanced ATM services, including advanced-function ATMs with rapid processing technology, the latest software available and ATM security services.
NORTH CANTON, Ohio, Nov. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union, the first large-scale deployer of deposit automation technology, reinforced its commitment to technology leadership and improved user experience at the automated teller machine (ATM) by updating its fleet. Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD) replaced 94 of the credit union's terminals with advanced deposit automation Opteva® ATMs featuring rapid processing technology and Agilis® 3, Diebold's newest, multi-vendor software solution. Diebold also replaced 104 of Suncoast Schools' cash dispensers and provided a variety of integrated services, including advanced skimming detection (ASD) monitoring.
"Suncoast has been aggressive in adopting new technologies that benefit our members," said Wanda Chambers, vice president, document services, Suncoast Schools. "Even during its infancy, deposit automation improved ATM experiences for our members, eliminated empty-envelope fraud and provided processing efficiencies. Now that we've deployed new terminals with rapid processing technology, we're excited to experience additional benefits."
As the largest credit union in Florida and thirteenth largest in the United States, Suncoast Schools serves more than 510,000 members. Providing better ATM experiences to those members was a key factor in upgrading its ATM fleet. Running Agilis 3 software, the new Opteva ATMs give members more control over deposit transactions through an intuitive interface that displays deposit information for verification, enable check image scrolling instead of single views and print deposit details on receipts. In addition, through the deployment of rapid processing technology, the new ATMs process transactions faster, clear routine jams more easily to maximize ATM uptime and accept more checks at one time. Rapid processing technology shortens the total transaction time for a cash and check deposit by performing tasks in parallel. Diebold's current deposit automation technology delivers the industry's fastest transaction time, accepting deposits of up to 30 bank notes and 10 checks in less than 60 seconds.
"Suncoast Schools has advocated for deposit automation technology since its inception, promoting it to members, providing on-screen training at ATMs and sharing success stories with other financial institutions," said Mychal D. Kempt, vice president, North American sales and service operations, Diebold. "With its new ATMs that incorporate rapid processing technology, this progressive institution is again leading the pack in advanced ATM functionality."
Suncoast Schools' integrated services engagement with Diebold provides a variety of outsourced services that reduce demands on credit union staff and ensure Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance. Through the engagement, Diebold delivered its advanced skimming detection (ASD) monitoring service. This solution includes a detection sensor that continuously monitors the card-reader environment and detects fraudulent objects placed over the card reader. The sensor signals that a foreign object has been detected and when connected to an alarm panel, sends an alert to a monitoring center where appropriate action can be taken.
To enable advanced services across its ATM fleet, Suncoast deployed Agilis 3, Diebold's latest software solution. Agilis 3, Diebold's next-generation, global software platform, allows ATMs to operate to their full potential. It provides seamless integration of solutions and services in both multi-channel and multi-vendor environments. Agilis 3 software is available to customers globally.
