Study Outlines Success Factors for Deployment of iPads among Managed Markets Teams in the Pharmaceutical Sector
CHAPEL HILL, N.C., March 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The expanding role of technology in the pharmaceutical industry is demonstrated by the increased use of iPads across different functional groups within the sector. As utilization of iPads spreads across the industry, it's critical for organizations to measure the effectiveness of these devices to ensure they are creating value for both customer groups and internal teams.
This is especially true as pharma companies integrate iPad into roles such as managed markets groups that are tasked with developing and maintaining relationships with public and private payers.
Yet within pharma the rate of iPad deployment is much lower for managed markets teams than for other field-based sales teams. Only 29 percent of surveyed companies have actually implemented iPads/tablets for their managed markets teams, according to a report by research and consulting leader Best Practices, LLC. Among those companies that have deployed a tablet to managed markets teams, iPads continue to be the preferred device.
