FAIRFAX, Va., June 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Inspired by the 3 MUSKETEERS® #ThrowShine campaign, high school students Rodney and Audrey had a plan to promote positivity at West Springfield High School. The duo took it upon themselves to motivate their fellow 2,400 high school students, creating a pay-it-forward movement that reverberated throughout the entire school year.
The 3 MUSKETEERS® #ThrowShine campaign was designed to create an environment for young people to give props to their peers or make someone feel good. It is the positive counterpart to the isolation and embarrassment that comes with throwing shade. To celebrate the #ThrowShine efforts by Rodney and Audrey, as well as inspire other teens around the world, the 3 MUSKETEERS® Brand has released a mini-documentary about their story and the power of positivity.
"Being a teenager nowadays is not like it used to be – with technology and social media at their fingertips, it's easy to get immersed in the negativity that spreads across our digital world," said Allison Miazga-Bedrick, 3 MUSKETEERS® Brand Director. "That's why we think it's critical to spread the #ThrowShine message and continue to share stories like Audrey and Rodney's to remind teens about the power of positivity."
To continue to inspire positivity at the high school, 3 MUSKETEERS® will also fund a new mural, created by a local Washington, DC artist. Rodney and Audrey announced the plans for the mural at the school's recent seniors honor assembly, helping to ensure that positivity remains a cornerstone of the West Springfield High School experience in the future.
"We were inspired by 3 MUSKETEERS® to do our small part to spread joy around to our classmates," explains Rodney, West Springfield High School graduating senior. "But hopefully, our story will inspire others to join us."
