AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Catalyst, a student housing marketing firm based in Austin, has added several new members to its growing team of marketing experts, including Group Account Director Jamie Matusek and Project Manager Julie Farnie, who bring their years of marketing expertise to Catalyst clients in all areas of the student housing industry.

Matusek brings to Catalyst 15 years of account leadership, sales, interactive and traditional marketing experience. She will use that experience as she oversees the development of the student housing marketing firm's account management team, growing client accounts and strengthening the firm's existing client relationships.
Before joining Catalyst, Matusek served as sales and marketing director for Nexersys where she was responsible for consumer and business-to-business sales and marketing efforts. She and her team were recognized for their work by winning awards that included the coveted Direct Marketing Association's ECHO™ Award for marketing campaign excellence two years in a row, as well as marketing and sales support/lead generation awards of excellence from the National Association for Printing Leaders.
Like Matusek, Farnie is a seasoned project manager with more than 20 years of experience in the marketing and advertising industries. Her work includes experience with major brands, including "the first-of-its-kind" national near field communication (NFC) tag outdoor campaign for Samsung. She has years of experience in interactive, print, online and broadcast campaigns, as well as in coordinating event materials for music festivals such as Lollapalooza and the Austin City Limits Music Festival.
Other new additions to the Catalyst team of student housing marketing experts include:
- Digital Media Systems Manager Luke Dyer who will manage all of Catalyst's marketing and media systems and IT vendor relationships. He joins Catalyst after serving as information technology and systems specialist at Nexersys Corporation where he oversaw all systems and website strategy, development and implementation.
- Senior Designer Christy McFerren comes to Catalyst with 15 years of experience in crafting platforms and sculpting brand messages for the web, mobile and print. As a designer, she thrives on creating simple and beautiful products that work well for the user and convert well for the client. Before joining Catalyst, McFerren held the position of account manager at Author Media.
- Account Manager Savanna Pratka brings to the firm her experience in managing digital campaigns and process-driven approaches.
