Stryker Brings Joint Health Awareness on and off the Golf Course to Kick off Tournament Week at Zurich® Classic of New Orleans
MAHWAH, N.J., April 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Stryker Orthopaedics announced today its presence in New Orleans will go beyond the golf course with a pop-up activation at local miniature golf complex, City Putt New Orleans. As part of the company's overall dedication to educate the local community on the importance of healthy joints and staying active, Stryker is collaborating with City Putt to engage with the local community through complimentary rounds of miniature golf on April 26th from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
As part of the experience, PGA TOUR Champions golfer and Stryker brand ambassador, Fred Funk will be stopping by to join in on the fun and share his experience of dealing with joint pain and undergoing total knee replacement. In addition, Stryker will be offering consumers the chance to win tickets to attend the Zurich Classic of New Orleans later in the week, as well as a trip to TPC® Sawgrass to play a round of golf with Funk.1,2
Starting Thursday, Stryker will once again bring its premiere tournament activation, the Stryker Mobility Zone, to the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with its new offering for 2016: the Stryker Challenge. Featuring a series of golf-inspired activities, the Stryker Challenge is designed to address questions specifically related to joint health, mobility and golf in a fun and interactive way. As an added incentive to participate, fans who complete the Stryker Challenge also have the opportunity to enter for the chance to win a trip for two to TPC® Sawgrass to play alongside former PLAYERS Championship winners and longtime Stryker ambassadors, Funk and Hal Sutton.

As such, Stryker will join members and veterans of the United States Armed Forces for a special ceremony at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans to present a donation to K9s For Warriors for the sponsorship of a service dog.
Funk, a Stryker brand ambassador since 2011, is one of the most recognizable names and personalities in professional golf. During his career, which spans more than 20 years, Funk has won eight titles on the PGA TOUR, including THE PLAYERS Championship 2005, and six titles on PGA TOUR Champions, including the 2009 U.S. Senior Open. Funk underwent total knee replacement in November 2009 and received Stryker's GetAroundKnee. He won the 2010 JELD-WEN Tradition the following season, becoming the first player ever to win a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event after total knee replacement surgery.
