Rosetta Resources Inc. Analyst Notes
On May 5, 2014, Rosetta Resources Inc. (Rosetta) released its Q1 2014 earnings. Total revenues were $214.6 million, up 20.5% YoY. During the quarter, the Company's oil sales that constitute a major portion of total revenues improved by 19.6% YoY to $131.7 million, while natural gas sales improved 53.0% YoY to $51.4 million. During the quarter, the Company produced a record 54.3 thousand barrels of oil equivalent per day (MBoe/d), up 15.5% YoY driven by production growth from the Company's Eagle Ford and Permian Basin assets. Adjusted net income was $45.6 million, or $0.74 per diluted share, excluding an after-tax unrealized loss on derivatives of $10.1 million, versus adjusted net income of $62.5 million, or $1.18 per diluted share in Q1 2013. The Company reaffirmed its 2014 production guidance and expects production in the range of 60 - 65 MBoe/d, representing approximately 20% - 30% YoY growth. Kinder Morgan Inc. Analyst Notes
On May 6, 2014, Kinder Morgan Inc.'s (KMI) general partner, Kinder Morgan Energy Partners LP (KMP) announced the expansion of its carbon dioxide (CO2)infrastructure in southwestern Colorado and New Mexico with a total investment of $671 million. The Company plans to expand its CO2 production operations in the Cow Canyon area of the McElmo Dome source field in Montezuma County, Colorado, and expand the approximately 500-mile Cortez pipeline that transports CO2 from southwestern Colorado to eastern New Mexico and West Texas for use in enhanced oil recovery projects. KMP informed that it will invest approximately $344 million to increase CO2 production in the McElmo Dome source field by 200 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d), while investment in the Cortez pipeline is expected to be approximately $327 million and will increase the pipeline's capacity by 0.65 billion cubic feet per day (Bcf/d). The Mosaic Company Analyst Notes
On May 6, 2014, shares in The Mosaic Company (Mosaic) declined 2.11% to end the session at $48.66 as the Company released its Q1 2014 earnings. Net sales declined 14.1% YoY to $2.0 billion, while operating earnings declined 45.7% YoY to $266.6 million, as higher phosphate and potash sales volumes were more than offset by lower realized prices. Q1 2014 net earnings attributable to Mosaic came in at $217.5 million or $0.54 per diluted share, compared to net earnings of $379.8 million or $0.89 per diluted share in Q1 2013. Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the Company to post Q1 2014 EPS of $0.59 on sales on $2 billion. For Q2 2014, the Company expects phosphate segment sales volume in the range of 3.1 - 3.4 million tonnes and potash segment sales volume between 2.2 and 2.5 million tonnes.
