Statement of the Stop & Shop Supermarket Company on the Status of Union Negotiations
QUINCY, Mass., Feb. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Stop & Shop negotiated throughout the day with the five New England UFCW local unions. Unfortunately no agreement has been reached. Stop & Shop and the local unions have agreed to an extension. Negotiations will resume next week. We will continue to operate under the terms of the current collective bargaining agreements during the extension.
Our goal throughout these negotiations continues to be to provide good jobs to our associates, while serving our loyal customers. We are committed to continuing negotiations and working hard at the bargaining table to reach a fair agreement that provides our associates with access to quality, affordable healthcare and competitive wages and retirement benefits.
