For those with damage to their property, make reasonable temporary repairs to prevent further damage only if it is safe to do so. Save receipts if you purchase items such as tarps and plywood or other supplies to make repairs. If you have a covered loss, these repairs may be reimbursed.
Policyholders with claims can report them to their State Farm Agent, call 1 800-SF-CLAIM (1-800-732-5246), or file a claim online at http://www.statefarm.com
State Farm is advising policyholders to take great care around their homes and properties if impacted by the storm. Suggestions include:
- Following authorities' orders not to enter impacted areas until clearance is given
- Staying away from downed power lines
- Avoiding sharp objects, nails and broken glass in areas where there is significant debris.
