St. Thomas School Looks Forward to the Expansion of its Middle School in 2014-15 and Beyond
STS strongly encourages applications for students in 5th through 8th grades and has financial aid scholarship grants available specifically for these grade levels
SEATTLE, Aug. 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning in 2012, St. Thomas School added grades 7 and 8 to offer a complete middle school to its students. This past June 12, St. Thomas School celebrated its first 8th Grade graduation, a milestone that marked the first full cycle in its expansion to become a complete Middle School.
St. Thomas School is committed to an extraordinary learning community by admitting students, and welcoming families, from a wide range of backgrounds. While families have a primary responsibility to support their children's education, STS recognizes that not all families are able to meet the full cost of attending an independent school. With the expansion of the Middle School through 8th Grade, STS strongly encourages applications for students in 5th through 8th grades and has financial aid scholarship grants available specifically for these grade levels.
STS students are encouraged and challenged to grow by caring teachers, specialists in art, music, PE, and language, as well as learning support specialists who have specific expertise in working with middle school students. St. Thomas School offers a highly rigorous academic curriculum and prides itself in its ability to identify the gifts inherent in every student, and offers personalized academic programs that best draw out the strengths and talents of each individual student.
According to St. Thomas School Head of School Kirk Wheeler, Ed.D.,"A 21st century education combines rigorous academic skills with the skills students will need for life to lead, innovate and collaborate. Students who graduate from the 8th Grade of St. Thomas School are highly qualified to attend any school of their choice—both in high school and beyond."
St. Thomas School is proud to announce that its 2014 middle school graduating class were accepted into and will attend a wide range of high schools: The Bush School, Eastside Catholic School, Eastside Preparatory School, Holy Names Academy, Ingraham International HS (APP/IB), Lakeside School, The Northwest School, The Overlake School, Raisbeck Aviation High School and Seattle Preparatory School.
STS offers special congratulations to those students who have been accepted into these high schools with honors and merit scholarships!
The next STS Admissions Open House is Thursday, Nov 6, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Check for future events on the home page of www.stthomasschool.org.
