The "My School, My Award" program, which began in 2013, is an annual initiative centered on giving back to deserving students and schools within the recently expanded S&T Bank geographic footprint.
"We are thrilled to award three schools with funds to elevate students' educational experience," said S&T Bank President and CEO Todd D. Brice. "At S&T Bank, we believe in investing in our communities and providing resources that will help to make a difference for our customers' everyday lives. We congratulate Greater Johnstown, Manheim Central and Steelton-Highspire and look forward to their achievements in the years to come."
All three schools received a charitable donation, presented by S&T Bank, to assist with newly implemented programs and resources. Greater Johnstown Senior High School as well as Manheim Central High School and Steelton-Highspire Senior High School, both of which are located in southcentral Pennsylvania, have announced intentions to use S&T Bank's donations to provide a more compassionate, positive educational experience.
Greater Johnstown Senior High School will introduce a school sponsored hearing and vision program available to all students. Manheim Central High School will create a transitional program aimed at providing alternative post-secondary opportunities. And, Steelton-Highspire Senior High School will expand the "Positive Behavior Interventions and Support" and "Distinguished Alumni and Accomplished Professionals" programs in partnership with students.
Greater Johnstown Senior High School will be presented with their donation on Friday, November 20 while Manheim Central and Steelton-Highspire Senior High Schools were awarded their donations on Friday, October 16.
The S&T Bank Scholarship Committee selected all 2015 recipients in August based on application completion, need and utilization of the donations.
