SRA Wins $33 Million Contract to Support Department of Defense Retirement Pay System
FAIRFAX, Va., Feb. 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- SRA International, Inc., a leading provider of IT solutions and professional services to government organizations, today announced that the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) recently awarded the company a single-award, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract to partner with the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS) in upgrading the Defense Retiree and Annuitant Pay System (DRAS). The contract is valued at $32.8 million if all options are exercised.
DFAS oversees payments to Department of Defense service members, employees, vendors and contractors using DRAS to establish and maintain the approximately $40 billion payroll for more than 2.6 million military retirees, former spouses, and survivor beneficiaries. Built on older mainframe technology, the system is at the end of its planned lifecycle and will be replaced with DRAS2 -- an integrated, highly efficient, and cost effective web-based system.
With SRA's experienced PeopleSoft and military retiree and annuitant payroll subject matter experts and knowledge of enterprise resource planning, the company will partner with DLA and DFAS to develop and implement DRAS 2 with enhanced capabilities designed to streamline processes and provide auditable, sustainable, and flexible retiree and annuitant pay capability to better meet user needs.
George Batsakis, Executive Vice President of SRA's National Security Group commented, "DRAS 2 is one of the most important programs through which the Department of Defense honors its commitment to our military retirees, veterans, and their families. SRA is proud to collaborate with DLA and DFAS as we work to enhance this key financial management program in support of our Armed Forces members."
