OVERLAND PARK, Kan., Nov. 14, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Sprint (NYSE:S) customers have long enjoyed the convenience of shopping online at sprint.com and 1-800-SPRINT-1 and picking up their purchases in Sprint stores. Starting today, consumers will have one more fast, secure and flexible delivery choice just in time for the holiday season. Customers can now buy online at sprint.com or by calling 1-800-SPRINT-1 and pick up at one of more than 7,500 FedEx counters located conveniently inside Walgreens.
Seventy-five percent of Americans are concerned about porch piracy, and the majority of online shoppers want alternate delivery options.1 Because more than 78 percent of the U.S. population lives within five miles of a Walgreens, this makes shopping with Sprint more convenient and worry-free than ever. Customers don't have to stress about ordering online and being home to receive their package.
Deliveries are shipped and held at Walgreens for five business days, giving customers the flexibility to pick up on their schedule – early in the morning to late evenings – and in some cases 24 hours a day. Although convenience and security are important all year long, having purchases delivered to Walgreens also eliminates the worry of gifts being discovered on the front porch, thus ruining a holiday surprise.
"Being able to buy online and conveniently pick up at either a Sprint store or Walgreens makes shopping easy for our customers," said Dow Draper, Sprint chief commercial officer. "As customers check out on Sprint.com, they can select delivery to their home, to their local Sprint store or Walgreens. It is that simple!"
"Our customers across the country enjoy the convenience of services we offer at neighborhood Walgreens locations," said Richard Ashworth, Walgreens president of operations. "We're pleased to expand on our collaborations with both Sprint and FedEx to further simplify shopping as we head into the holiday season."
"As e-commerce continues to grow, customers expect retailers and logistics providers to offer convenient and flexible solutions to fit their busy lifestyles," said Scott Harkins, senior vice president of customer channel marketing, FedEx Services. "We are thrilled to work with the well-respected Walgreens and Sprint brands to provide options that make our customers' lives easier."
The service is great for existing customers and new customers alike. For existing customers, it's a convenient when they are ready to upgrade to a new phone or add a new line with a device or tablet. New Sprint customers can also use the service when they purchase a device. Anyone can ship accessories or SIM cards to Walgreens.
This new delivery option is the result of Sprint's continued collaboration with Walgreens announced earlier this year. Eighty additional Sprint Express locations within Walgreens will open this week throughout Chicagoland and the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area that provide wireless services and expertise to customers in neighborhoods where they live and work.
