SPC's GlobalTrak Announces Security & Asset Management System Product Marketing Agreement With Talon Companies
ARLINGTON, Va., April 19 /PRNewswire/ -- System Planning Corporation of Arlington, VA, the maker of the GlobalTrak® security and asset management product line, and Talon Companies, a Security & Risk Management Company located in Orange County, CA, today announced an agreement for Talon to market GlobalTrak products.
Talon Companies provides a host of professional security services such as: Executive Protection, Threat Assessment, Investigations, Violence in the Workplace Prevention & Mitigation, Background Screening & Due Diligence, IT Security & Computer Forensics, Emergency Response Planning, and Security Consulting.
Ron Williams, CEO of Talon, stated that his company "has been searching for a state of the art GPS product to augment their professional services." Mr. Williams said, "With the SPC GlobalTrak product we have found a comprehensive technical product to offer our clients to protect their valuable assets."
GlobalTrak offers the most complete, flexible, and affordable supply chain management and cargo tracking information system in the industry. GlobalTrak asset management units placed on a conveyance or with cargo communicate via satellite or cell to provide real time location and condition of assets in transit. GlobalTrak units can be equipped with mobile readers to manage either active or passive RFID-tagged inventory. GlobalTrak provides customers the ability to continually monitor valuable assets from a secure, web based portal called the Information Management Bureau (IMB).
System Planning Corporation, a research and technology company, created the GlobalTrak product line in response to national security concerns about the millions of containers that come into and through the United States each year. Since its initial trials on two routes of the Department of Homeland Security's Operation Safe Commerce program, the GlobalTrak system has been developed to provide security to high value assets, time and condition-critical cold chain cargoes, hazardous materials, project cargo, and crucial inventory shipments.
GlobalTrak CEO Richard C. Meyers described the added security available from electronic bolt and strap seals, enhanced security anti-tamper measures, and Remote Sensor Nodes that communicate with the host asset monitoring unit over a ZigBee wireless LAN to report security and condition status to the customer.
Customers can use the business processes of the Information Management Bureau to improve inventory management, cut safety stock, reduce special handling expenses, and automate delivery notification while decreasing insurance costs because of loss reductions and proper attribution of responsibility.
