RadarFind has existing relationships with four SAHA hospitals, including WakeMed Cary Hospital, which has reduced its inventory of rental infusion pumps by 20 percent since analyzing utilization data gathered by the RadarFind system. In addition to locating, the RadarFind RTLS leverages a patented sensor-network technology to provide status and context to location by communicating information about whether a piece of equipment is in-use, available or needs cleaning. The system also includes temperature monitoring applications and alarm capabilities.
"RadarFind's technology reflects a system that was purpose-built for the dynamic hospital environment and will enable our hospitals to simultaneously improve operational efficiency and the quality of patient care," said Dale Armstrong, CEO of SAHA. "RadarFind's local presence and national reach make them an ideal partner to support the coalition and its members."
RadarFind delivers room-level accuracy in locating tagged items and operates wirelessly via a radio frequency ideally suited for accurately tracking both assets and people without compromising a hospital's Wi-Fi network. RadarFind can be quickly installed while patients are in the room and can easily scale to accommodate thousands of asset and patient tags across multiple hospital facilities.
"RadarFind's innovative sensor technology provides more than just the location of an asset, but status and context as well," said Mike Nelson, president of RadarFind. "This information enables hospitals to maximize the utilization of their equipment and frees up valuable staff time typically spent searching for essential medical devices. By using RadarFind, more staff time can be devoted to patient care."
