Souplantation, Sweet Tomatoes Launch New Campaign Supporting St. Jude Research Hospital® Fight Against Childhood Cancer
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 31, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Just six months after raising $300,000 for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital® battle to help kids beat cancer, Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes is at it again with a September campaign that allows guests to join the effort to support this important work.
Throughout the month, guests and supporters can join the cause at the register or online to help St. Jude's save young lives, with 100 percent of the proceeds going directly to the world's leading specialist in childhood cancer and life-threatening illnesses.
This is the second time the restaurants, owned by Garden Fresh Restaurant Corp., and St. Jude have partnered on a national giving campaign. All money raised will go directly to the hospital to support the St. Jude mission: Finding Cures. Saving Children®.
"We're delighted to pick up where we left off just a few months ago to support St. Jude in their crucial life-saving work," said John Morberg, CEO of Garden Fresh Corp. "As a company committed to guests, employees and their families, this is one of the most important things we can do and we hope this campaign will be as successful as the first."
Last spring, Garden Fresh, Sweet Tomatoes and Souplantation guests, employees, farmers, supplier and supporters joined together to shatter its original fundraising goal. Actor Patrick Warburton, the voice of the Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes "Discover Fresh" advertising campaign, initially introduced Garden Fresh to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
About St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. It is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to 80 percent since the hospital opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude is working to drive the overall survival rate for childhood cancer to 90 percent, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
