FORT COLLINS, Colo., May 6, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Solix Algredients, Inc., a supplier of innovative natural algal ingredients for the nutrition and personal care markets, announced today that it has been certified by UL Registrar as meeting the Natural Product Association's (NPA) requirements for compliance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) for dietary supplements.
Solix's Fort Collins, Colorado facility and its GMP-related documentation have undergone a comprehensive review and audit to verify Solix's compliance with NPA's GMP Certification requirements. The audited facility is used for the manufacture, packaging, and warehousing of Solix's Solasta® Astaxanthin products.
"We are dedicated to delivering high-quality natural algal ingredients that meet or exceed the expectations of our global nutritional supplement and personal care customers. This independent audit ensures that all elements of the manufacturing process have been reviewed to confirm that appropriate procedures and controls are in place to produce products that meet the established specifications for quality. Gaining NPA's GMP Certification for the manufacturing of our United States Pharmacopeia (USP) compliant Solasta® Astaxanthin is a significant milestone for Solix and demonstrates our firm commitment to quality. We intend to build on this platform to bring other innovative natural algal ingredients to market," said Austin Maguire, Chief Executive Officer.
NPA is a leader in promoting quality standards for dietary supplements and has developed proactive certification programs for that purpose.
