Social Media for Travel for the Guam Visitors Bureau, School Branding for Solano Community College Educational Foundation (SCCEF) are New Projects for the Placemaking Group
OAKLAND, Calif., April 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB) has signed with the Placemaking Group for a social media program to engage with Chamorro people living in the United States. In addition, the Fairfield-based Solano Community College Educational Foundation (SCCEF) has tapped the Placemaking Group to implement a complete branding of the college foundation. The branding project encompasses a range of marketing and fundraising materials as well as a new website.
The Placemaking Group's work for the GVB kicked off with social media implementation and the production of a video showcasing the GVB's leading role at the recent Los Angeles Times Travel Show. Placemaking Group's activity will also include community outreach and coordinating "Show Us Your Chamorro" photo contests across a variety of social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.
"We chose to work with the Placemaking Group because of its understanding of social media as a channel to promote Guam in the U.S. and as a way to engage with the Chamorro community," said Ms. Pilar Laguana, GVB Marketing Manager. "Also, various staff of the Placemaking Group have extensive knowledge of Guam's many attractions, having worked with the GVB on a variety of travel and tourism-related marketing communication programs in the past. We are happy to have the chance to work with them again."
Placemaking Group's work for SCCEF includes school branding, logo design and message development along with creation of a totally new marketing and fundraising package that will include a brochure and customizable folder with inserts. The SCCEF branding assignment also includes two new digital marketing elements -- the foundation's first website and an email newsletter -- to support the SCCEF's alumni communication and fundraising efforts.
