COMMERCE, Calif., March 15, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- SME, an organization dedicated to serving the manufacturing industry by promoting advanced manufacturing technology and developing a skilled workforce, is pleased to announce ROMAC Supply Company, Inc. as one of its inaugural corporate members.
ROMAC, a manufacturer of industrial electrical equipment, is one of three companies, including General Motors Co. and Black Horse, LLC that has joined SME as a corporate member.
"Like many small companies looking to grow, ROMAC has limited resources. I think SME can help us with some of our challenges," said David Rosenfield, president of ROMAC. "We would like OEMs and government agencies to know us, recognize us and come to us for our products. SME's network could be the solution to our problems."
SME today announced the rollout of the corporate membership program, which is a new offering to manufacturing companies. The corporate membership connects companies to tens of thousands of professionals within the SME network who come from all disciplines of manufacturing and are committed to cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions. Additionally, these companies' employees will have access to all SME membership benefits, including SME's training, events, research and publications.
"I hope to gain insights from SME and its corporate membership on how to create training programs to help workers in my plant advance," Rosenfield added. "SME has resources that could help my team gain knowledge and ultimately become more successful and assertive in their professional endeavors."
SME's corporate membership has two options: supporting and premier. Each option offers access to research, publications, networking opportunities, publications and training. For companies with very specific challenges, the premier membership is designed to offer a tailored membership to meet specific needs of the manufacturer, whether that may be related to workforce, technology or other key industry issues.
