Smartphones, LED Bulbs Are Top Sellers For Affordable Electronic e-Retailer
International e-retailer Yoshop releases a consumer trending report after analyzing its electronic sales in Q1 of 2017
LOS ANGELES, March 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Yoshop, a Asia-based online electronics retailer serving a global market, recently released a report that analyzed its sales over the first quarter of 2017. Not surprisingly, smartphones headed the list but a number of other consumer products showed significant popularity among Internet shoppers.
Yoshop (www.Yoshop.com) also sells fashion wear, jewelry and home products.
A majority of sales were for 3C electronic products (computer, communication and consumer), most of which are manufactured in China, Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines. With competitive prices and high quality, these products are gaining an excellent reputation in the international market.
Phones are No. 1
Mobile phones accounted for 29 percent of Yoshop's electronics sales in the first quarter. The top brand is XiaoMi, which represented 25.5 percent of the telephone purchases. The XiaoMi Mi5 was the most popular choice. http://www.yoshop.com/item/xiaomi-mi5-5-15-inch-miui-7-p_369083.html
In addition to XiaoMi phones, the XiaoMi smart band has become a favorite. Worn on the wrist, it provides a number of valuable functions including sleep monitoring, physical fitness (counting steps), mobile-phone reminders, measuring heart rate and Bluetooth synchronization.
The top seller is XiaoMi Band 2.
'Smart life' products gaining market share
Along with smartphones and smart bands, energy-efficient lighting is also a big seller. Yoshop offers the XiaoMi Yeelight RGBW Smart LED Bulb, which uses 90 percent less energy than a standard incandescent bulb and one-third of the electricity of a compact fluorescent bulb (CFL).

In addition, LEDs last 5-10 times longer than CFLs and more than 40 times longer than an incandescent bulb. Monthly sales of these LEDs have reached more than $10,000 and are on the rise.
Other "smart life" products from Yoshop include smart watches, key finders and wireless remote controls.
International markets
US shoppers accounted for 27 percent of total sales during the first quarter, the most of any foreign country. Low prices and high quality were the key motivators for this market.
Sales from Mexico increased 25 percent from the last quarter of 2016 to the first quarter of 2017. Ease of payment was a big factor as Mexican shoppers can now use OXXO, a local payment method.
The number of new customers from the Arab countries is also on the rise. Al Bawaba, an online Arab news agency, reports that e-commerce in Arab countries is expected to reach $13.4 billion by 2020, nearly double the amount in 2014.
