LAS VEGAS, Nov. 19, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- Smart City Networks, the nation's leading provider of technology services for the convention industry, began its nationwide Month of Service initiative to give back to the communities involving all 39 of its partner facilities.
The program started last year as just a week of service but, this year, it was extended to a month to better assist the communities and help even more people throughout November. During this Month of Service, Smart City team members from around the nation volunteer to support charity organizations that have been thoughtfully selected by the local Smart City team to provide the most significant impact possible to those in need. A food drive competition to see which team can collect the most food to donate to a local food bank is also being held throughout the month.
"Last year's Week of Service was a huge success, so this year we wanted to create an even greater impact," said Mark Haley, President of Smart City Networks. "By expanding to a Month of Service, and adding a food drive competition, we are giving our teams even more opportunities to give back to their hometown while having fun in the process."
Local teams have scheduled volunteer work with charity organizations including United Service Organizations (USO), Dallas Life, Random Acts of Flowers, Habitat for Humanity, Hands on Orlando, Humane Society, Ronald McDonald House, Make-A-Wish, local food banks, and many more. With each organization being specifically selected, Smart City hopes to ease the burden on families in need this holiday season.
