NAPA, Calif., Jan. 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sledgehammer wine team announced today that it has partnered with comedian Adam Carolla's media network ACE Broadcasting to support a leg of his 2011 US comedy tour as part of efforts to reach millennial male wine drinkers.

As the official wine of "The Adam Carolla Show," Sledgehammer will host tasting events in conjunction with Carolla's upcoming tour dates. From bottle glorifiers and gobo lights to fake tattoos, this won't be a standard wine country experience. The first event is in Napa on Feb. 4, followed by events in Denver, Miami, Chicago and Los Angeles.
ACE Broadcasting will also create custom videos and trivia games for Sledgehammer, which Carolla will incorporate into his live comedy shows and use as content for "The Adam Carolla Show" podcasts.
Launched nationally in January 2011, Sledgehammer produces two robust reds from California's North Coast region – Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel.
The brand seeks to appeal to 25- to 35-year-old men who are newly interested in wine. Based on the notion that there comes a time in every guy's life where he needs to learn a few things about being a "man" – wine being one of them– the "Know your Sledgehammer (SH)" campaign was born. Using "The Adam Carolla Show" to help spread the message, Sledgehammer will help these guys get to know their wine. Carolla is a known man's man and a guy who really knows his SH.
Through targeted video podcasts, Carolla will share his manly knowledge and give fans a few pointers about "Knowing their SH." Videos will cover wine and other essential topics every man must know – like how to operate various household tools – using the comedic tone fans have come to expect. Links to the podcasts will be available at www.sledgehammerwine.com and www.acebroadcasting.com. For information about upcoming tour dates visit www.adamcarolla.com.
About Sledgehammer
Launched in spring 2010, Sledgehammer produces big, bold red wines. The inaugural releases Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel are made from grapes grown in California's North coast winegrowing region. We extend hang time to develop riper flavors and age the wines for two years in toasted oak barrels for added complexity. The result: wines so big and rich we have a hard time fitting them in the bottle.
