Skyline's DirectFED Payment Solutions Offers Free Webinar Series to Demonstrate Benefits of Remote Deposit Capture Technology
LOS ANGELES, June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Remote Deposit Capture (RDC) has been called "The most important development the banking industry has seen in years" by the Federal Reserve and others. It can be used by virtually any business, corporation, municipality, credit union, utility company, or law firm that receives paper checks, and wishes to have funds processed electronically and rapidly. Still, many businesses do not know how this service can save them time and money. To demonstrate the many benefits of RDC, Skyline's DirectFED Payment Solutions will host free introductory webinars on:
- Thursday, June 3 at 1 p.m. Eastern (10 a.m. Pacific)
- Thursday, June 10 at 1 p.m. Eastern (10 a.m. Pacific)
- Thursday June 17 at 1 p.m. Eastern (10 a.m. Pacific)

RDC allows a business user to scan a check at the office and transmit the scanned image to a bank for posting and clearing, rather than relying on a bank lockbox service or having to physically deliver the check to the bank.
"This webinar series is designed to demonstrate the many ways that this technology can improve efficiency and profitability for businesses including multinationals, small enterprises, not-for-profits, municipalities, credit unions and all types of financial service institutions," said Elizabeth Kitt, Account Executive with Skyline's DirectFED Payment Solutions.
This practice of RDC became legal in the United States in 2004 when the Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act (or Check 21 Act) took effect. The act made the digital image of a check legally acceptable for payment purposes, just as with a traditional paper check.
Although the purpose of the act was to keep the country's financial industries operational in the event of a catastrophe that could make the physical transportation of checks impossible, the practical effect was to save time and money.
"Skyline's DirectFED Payment Solutions' revolutionary remote deposit system will improve your company or organization's profitability by processing checks with unmatched speed and accuracy, delivering cash within 12 hours and reducing bank fees and handling expenses," added Kitt.
